elevated lyrics give you vertigo. Everyone around me
is so down its just profoundly wrong, that we don’t
realise life is perfect til we’re almost dead and gone.
But everybody suffers so we need to know, we won’t
alleviate our pain til our awareness grows and there’s
so many people tellin’ us this big lie, that the only
bliss in life is if you get high.
Taking chemicals to make the mind escape, people run away
from pain and throw their lives away. Life can really hurt
but drugs don’t work they make it worse for us and
I don’t just mean for the addicts in the city sleeping
rough. Cos everywhere you look we make the same mistake,
we demean our lives but it don’t have to be this way.
We don’t need intoxication to enjoy life, when all we gotta do is open up our third eye.

Everything is sure to change, and nothing lasts not even pain.
Every breath we get to take, is one more chance to start again.

The trouble is I take it all for granted everyday,
I keep forgetting when it’s gone it wont come back again.
I waste so many moments thinking of some other time, but
when I be the moment theres no way you can deny..

Man… everywhere you look you see a broken dream,
and nothing ever really is the way it all could be.
All existence seeming without meaning there’s
no reason clear and explanations purpose built
for navigation don’t come near, cos off the map of
the mind is where the answers lie. The nervous
system bringing a wisdom endless in supply, but
we ignore it all to focus on our small minds,
and then opinions suck us in and leave us all blind.
Fooling with my phone on the bus ride back home,
takes my mind away from the thoughts some stillness
might provoke. Everyday i’m racing to escape my situation
fast but temporary relief from my restlessness don’t ever
last, cos life’s a stormy sea you catch some wind and spray,
staying dry below the deck just lands you in the waves,
and there’s no education that can beat your own eyes not
if you see these things the way they are at all times.
